The 21,000 sq ft primary care centre will be beside the Wicklow County Council building in Blessington. It is designed by Brian Connolly of BCA Architects is due to be completed early in 2016 with Seamus Green of Rathcorbally Construction saying they will do everything in their power to have it built on or ahead of schedule.
The HSE will occupy about 13,000 sq ft of the centre where they will provide services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dentistry. wound dressing clinics and much more. The remainder of the centre will have Dr Michael Joyce’s Blessington Medical Centre, McGreal’s Pharmacy and additional consultants and medical service providers.
“This project has been over four years in the making” said Kilian McGreal “and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in bringing the project to this stage. The HSE and Wicklow County Council have played a huge role. Niall Bowen and Jim Curran from the HSE and Tom Murphy from Wicklow County Council deserve a special mention.”
“All of our local councillors and local TDs have shown massive support for this project”
“Most importantly I would like to thank the local community. This project would not be where it is today without their support of McGreals over the last 50 years and their continued support today. This primary care centre really has been built by the community, for the communiity” Kilian McGreal
