Trainee Pharmacy Technician (Glenageary, Co Dublin)

Do you have experience working as an Over-the-Counter Assistant within a Pharmacy and looking to progress into a technician role?

As a Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will work within the Pharmacy dispensary while also completing a Pharmacy Technician diploma by distance learning.

Pharmacy Technician Diploma: The duration of the course is 2 years and it is a combination of “on the job training” and course assignments.  This is a comprehensive course, which is delivered and managed by the Irish Pharmacy Union.  Full cost of the course is covered by McGreals.

As a Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will learn how to:

• Prepare Prescription – to ensure they are prepared accurately.
• Monitored dosing system – To dispense and prepare monitored dosing systems.
• Dispensary Ordering – To send and receive orders from wholesalers
• Pharmacy Claim – To help prepare the monthly claim to be sent to the PCRS.

The ideal candidate:

• Excellent communication skills as you will communicate with numerous different people every day, from patients to doctors and also the pharmacy team.
• Professional manner and treat all customers with care, empathy and respect.

• Positive attitude and very well presented.
• Be able to work as part of a team while also able to work on your own initiative.
• Excellent attention to detail and literacy skills.

Qualification: Experience of working within a pharmacy is essential.

Location: Glenageary Shopping Centre, Glenageary, Co Dublin, A96 WC92

Days per week: 5 days a week (Between Monday and Saturday. Required to work every 2nd Saturday)
